Welcome to ‘Lawyers In Waiting’ the only guide to a career in law that you will ever need, I am Olivia Nichols a 17 year old English girl with big goals and ambitions and the founder and editor of ‘Lawyers In Waiting’.
I have started this blog because I go to a state school, and the focus towards preparing students for competitive universities doesn’t even compare to that of a private school. The essay competitions, the summer school programmes were hardly referred to and whilst the minority of Englands school children are taught the real ways to get a foot in the door, state school children have to figure it out blind.
Education should not come at a price but of course it does, the expensive seminars and tutoring programmes I have paid for have left a dent that not everyone can afford. Which is why I have created ‘Lawyers In Waiting’ where I will share my own personal journey to creating the optimal law student candidate and sharing my advice along the way.
In this blog I will aim to post regularly about essay competitions, seminars, online lectures and much more producing an overall a guidance to navigating the complicated and unspoken ways in which you can guarantee to get into a Russell group university. I also have a column designated to book reviews, I am currently trying to get through John Rawles ‘A Theory of Justice’ but I intend to write an article regarding each section within the book.
